The Mosaic network is based on ISDN and ATM
advanced technology and sees its nodal points in technological
partners and service managers: Rome-Infobyte, Milan-Politecnico
di Milano, Bologna-CINECA (GARR from 64Kbps up 2Mbps) and University network, a consortium gathering 18 Italian Universities (Ancona, Bologna, Cagliari, Camerino, Catania, Ferrara, Firenze, Macerata, Modena, Padova, Parma, Sassari, Trento,
Trieste, Udine, Urbino, Venezia, Verona) , ZGDV (German, Portuguese and South
American University networks), Paris-Arenotech, Austria JRC,
Japan (University and private networks), Spain University of
Jaen, USA, Canada, Egypt, etc. The potential promotion centers can depend on
the distribution network of the Banca di Roma which has 1200
branches open to the public. New potential adhesions are
currently being evaluated both by the General Direction for
Cultural Relations of the Foreign Ministry - in order to promote
Italian cultural heritage even through foreign diplomacy firstly
through the Italian Cultural Institutions and subsequently
through the Italian embassies and consulates in the world - as
well as with the ABI (Associazione Bancaria Italiana - Italian
Banking Association) network. MOSAIC is connected to the European Union MOU
(Memorandum of Understanding for cultural heritage) and therefore
contains a significant mailing list for sending information or
for communicating and promoting events. Banca di Roma: http://mosaic.bancaroma.it Joanneum Research: http://mosaic.joanneum.ac.at
